Antique Round Picture Frame

Reproduction of an Italian Antique Round Picture Frame carved, gilt, and lacquered on lime wood. This late 17th-century Cassetta round frame is available for any particular painting size. Therefore you can fit it with any painting. 

Properties

This antique round frame is made of lime and tulipwood perfectly combined together. As a result, we obtained the maximum strength with the minimum weight.  You can customize the rabbet size as you prefer. For instance, if you want to show a bigger part of the painting you can ask to reduce it.

Patina (aging process)

“Patina” is an Italian word that refers to how dark and old the frame looks. Apart from dark gold, the age of a frame is determined by a few cracks and tiny broken parts around the sides. For this purpose, our gilder hits its surfaces with stones.

Also, the wormholes are simulated; you can notice them by analyzing the pictures above. Wormholes do not indicate activity within or a recent flight of beetles. Remember that we faked them to age the frame.
