Antique French Picture Frames

This is a lovely antique French picture frame that I realized a few weeks ago for a contemporary Italian painter. The gilded ornate and the white lacquer are well-balanced and form a perfect French-style shape. This frame was usually made around the end of the XIX century. I can tell it because of the white lacquer. The older models of this style were typically gilded in 22-carat gold leaf. There was no sign of white lacquer, which was instead very much used for picture frames after Art Nouveau.
