Properties

This gold Baroque frame reproduction is made of lime  and tulipwood combined together. As a result, we obtain the maximum strength with the minimum weight. We use lime for the frontal part and the tulipwood in the back to strengthening the entire structure.

You can customize the rabbet size as you prefer. For instance, if you want to show a bigger part of the painting, you can ask to reduce it. If you instead want to cover more of your artwork because it is ruined on the edges, you can request to increase the overlap of the rabbet up to a couple of cms.

Gold Baroque Frame Decorations

The decorations of this gold baroque frame are in wood pulp. We explain the entire process of our innovative technique in a video on our Youtube Channel. Wood pulp carving decorations | Watching the video, you will notice the wood pulp decorations already mounted along the four sides of the frame.

When the master carver starts carving them, you will instantly see how soft is the wood pulp compared to wood. The carver goes through the procedure of refreshing any detail of the ornaments by chisels. That way, the frame gets well-balanced with harmonious form.

This is a very new technique that we use to achieve a terrific result. We use it to decrease the number of working hours. As a result, you will save a lot of money without losing quality. Remember that the shape of the carving will be perfect, and even its resistance will be the same as if it were made of wood.

Patina (Antique dark color)

“Patina” is an Italian word that refers to how dark and distressed is the frame. Apart from dark gold, the age of frames is determined by few cracks and tiny broken parts.

With the purpose of obtaining a nice patina, our gilder uses different tools to distress the gilded surface of our reproductions. Even the wormholes are fake. In fact, you can notice them by analyzing the pictures above. Click the links below to get a major picture of what we mean by “patina”.
